Melanie Cooper has been teaching yoga for 16 years, and training yoga teachers for eight years. She divides her time between London and Goa, practicing and teaching yoga. She currently runs the morning ashtanga self practice at The Life Centre in Islington and runs an annual teacher training at Brahmani Yoga in Goa, She has practiced at Ashtanga Yoga London for many years, and has also studied with Sri K. Interesting and useful handbook, thoughtfully written by an experienced teacher

This is a broad-ranging practical handbook to teaching yoga and adjusting asana for yoga teachers and teachers in training. It is written in a very clear and accessible manner, offering well thought through tips and advice. I particularly liked the section on teaching points: simple, clearly expressed teaching points on the range of asana (within the Astanga primary series). The teaching points are not a comprehensive guide to instructing each pose but offer a useful reminder of different teaching points to include. I also found the section on adjusting asana particularly useful- clear photographs along with written adjustment tips. The book also includes sections on teaching breathing and on teaching the spiritual aspects of yoga (sensitively covered without lecturing). Not being an astanga teacher, certain sections such as the one on the sanskrit count were less relevant to me. I could also see scope for expanding the approach taken here (on teaching points and adjusting) to postures outside of the primary series. In sum, I found this an interesting and useful handbook for teachers and student teachers, written by an experienced teacher.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place

Yeah, couldn't resist. But get your minds out of the gutter.

Alright, keep them there, because there are a lot of hot scenes in this book, in all sorts of combinations. Yes, it's true - there is human/fairy/elf STATUE sex in this book. But it's OK, because they get married in the end (yeah, as if a book like this would have any other kind of ending - this isn't Anna Karenina, ya know).

This is a quick, well written and fun read, filled with wanabee mean girls, scary teachers, evil fairy queens, dogs that make angry pit bulls look like Pok�mon, and lots of sex - oh wait, I already mentioned that. And one kick ass heroine - December (where do they come up with these names?) is worth her weight in gold.

Winter's Tale is a naughty Narnia for grown-ups.

Winter's Tale is a pretty naughty book that reads more like very well written high fantasy elf porn. Like something a young Legolas would have read with a flash light under the covers when his parents thought he was asleep. Winter's Tale is a naughty Narnia for grown-ups. A very rich & very precocious girl locked away in all girls boarding school gets super kinky in a graveyard with a statue of a 200 yo enchanted fairy. Caught between being a good girls gone wild story or riding on the crazy train delusional nympho story that would sound weird if you described it to a friend, Winter's Tale is just out there.

The story includes old rivalries, secret spells, danger, fae lore, and a daring escape. I can't go into specifics because they are super spoilery. So if you are in the mood for Mean Girls rock the Fae, check out this short sexy novella.

Winter's Tale is part of the Move Me series which includes Move Me and The Faerie's Honeymoon

This book was wonderful for basic overviews of a variety of GI disease states. It utilized bullet-pointed information on presentation, ddx, and treatment, and summarized each disease in an understandable way. This book absolutely helped me get through my GI module!

Excellent bridge between basic science pathophysiology and clinical gastroenterology; based on 2nd yr Emory medical school lectures according to the authors. Seems ideal for 2nd year GI organ system. Includes "classic" GI-related pathology, skin lesions, and radiographs. Comparable to Mayo GI Board Review, although less detailed regarding treatment.

Two-thirds empty or Two-thirds full definitely depends on your paradigm. If you are open-minded and your paradigm allows you to admit that you do not know what reality is; if you are not completely satisfied with the Darwinian version of the evolution of our civilization; if you're skeptical of the religious take on the matter, this is the book for you. This is a very BIG book, close to 800 pages including the appendix. It is not an easy read, but it is well worth reading.

I was fascinated by not only the mythos style of the story, but also the way the book came about. It is kind of like an intergalactic "How The West Was Won". The characters are fractals, so they could be individuals or civilizations. It takes our ancestors' movements into this galaxy, and their colonization of this galaxy and into our solar system down to planet Earth. The book shows the many sacred geometric relationships between objects in the galaxy, solar system and on our planet. It also explains things like the face on Mars, and why it was abandoned. The appendix also includes drawings and graphics of how antigravity spaceships worked, why certain megaliths were aligned and built where they are, and the meaning of some of the crop circles, just to name a few.

The two authors were on different continents when the book was written, but were told how to put the book together, paragraph by paragraph, the exact wording, and when to publish it. David Myer downloaded the entire book, word for word for a higher source.

Remember that the earth was flat for a very long time, until some "kook" showed everyone it was round.

This is a very interesting book

This is a BIG book, over 800 pages including the appendix. I have read it 3 times within the space of one year. Why, you may ask? Because there are concepts in this book that are positively breath-taking and there are concepts that definitely require that you suspend disbelief. If you are capable of doing the latter, you are in for a great read. One which will challenge many of your perceptions of 'reality'.

I am an avid lifelong 'reader' and I have to say, this book has a very unique quality about it which I have not experienced in anything else I have read. Anything. The historical scope of the book is almost beyond human comprehension while still remaining pertinent and 'believeable'.

Since reading this book I find myself 'connecting the dots' on an almost daily basis with regard to everything from news stories on current events to 'scientific discoveries' which, in many cases, seem to substantiate the claims made in the book.

Although the authors have written the book as a novel, I regard it as a novelized alternate human history of the highest order. If you are interested in the works of Zechariah Sitchin, David Icke, John Anthony, et al, this is a 'must read'.

This is an outstanding book, and I would love to see a movie made based on this book.
It would take at least 5 or 6 or more "Star Wars" style episodes to present a story that spans billions of years. The physical proof is presented in photographs, diagrams and maps. How they discovered the technology that powers there World and there Galactic Class Star Ships that can travel through the three different light speed zones of our Universe. A long read of 800 pages of information that may be challenging at times to completely understand the thinking of a civilization that is over 5 billion years old. The creators of the face on Mars, Pyramids, etc, those who sculpted of the Earth and made adjustments of Earth's atmosphere, rotation rate, all for our human habitation, all needed for the self aware transdimensional beings who we really are. Two genetic manipulations of the indigenous people found here, spanning thousands of years, our forbears. The story is so long, complex in details and proof of the Estes (the Jesus group) and Alantians are to this day looking over and protecting us from the Pleiades, some live amongst us ................................An Amazing Story.........

To the east lay the farm where, through my parents, light first dawned on me. To the south lay the blue water knowledge of the schoolhouse, and to the west lay the red and black of the sunset.

Very Good!

I've just started reading Dreamland and Soulscapes and I'm really enjoying it. It takes me back to a simpler time. The eloquent prose re-creates a world that seems lost to us today. The writer is gifted and talented and speaks from the heart. I can't wait to get back to it!
