Great book, very well written

Great book, very well written! It's a thorough analysis of Donald Trump's campaign. I like the fact that author doesn't jump directly to conclusions, he analyzes Trump's behavior step-by-step, including body language during interviews and speeches.
I can recommend it to everyone, even those not interested in politics and the ongoing elections in US, as this is a good analysis not only of a presidential candidate, but of a very successful businessmen.

Not Too Much New Material

First off, I'm a big fan of the Weakerthans. I have all their CDs and when I was searching for the new John K. Samson CD and came across this, I was excited and purchased it immediately. I figured it would be interesting to see what Samson wrote that didn't make it as a song. That said, I felt sort of cheated. The book is set up by album, almost like a chapter. First you get all the lyrics to Fallow (minus one song, for some reason) and then you get TWO poems. The following is the same of just about all the chapters, and Provincial isn't even followed by poems. So you're looking at about 8 poems total. If you're a Weakerthans fan and have all the CDs and their liner notes, you're looking at $10 or more for 8 poems. On the other hand, if you don't have the CDs or the liner notes, perhaps I would recommend it. I love the way the Weakerthans write their lyrics in paragraph form and occasionally throw in a good quotation. However, if you're buying this book strictly for the poems like I was, you'll probably end up pretty disappointed.

Solid Poetry. Book has some issues.

First off, JKS is one of my favorite poets/musicians. I will buy anything he makes. He's a genius, but this book, I don't know. I feel it could be better. It needs more content. The only poems that are included are from his albums. There isn't anything really original.

The other problem is that the formatting is strange. The first few poems follow how the poems read poetically, but the later poems are simply the lyrics of his songs in paragraph form.

The poetry is solid. The book has some issues.

INFORMATIVE AND VALUABLE LITTLE BOOK ADDRESSING A VERY DIFFICULT SUBJECT

Well let me start this review by stating that the absolute last thing I would have wished for is to be forced into a conversation with one of my children or grandchildren over the subject of masturbation. I would rather have chewed in tinfoil or eaten ground glass. Fortunately for me, I never was forced into a corner in this area. But that being said, had I been put on the spot, I certainly would have given a great amount of money to have had this book available to guide me through a very difficult conversation.

The author has touched here on a subject that is still rather a taboo in our society; more so it seems for girls...I assume this as to be honest, I have not had a conversation with a girl or woman about masturbation since....well, come to think of it, I am not sure I ever have had one! My daughter is a grown woman with older children and all of my grandchildren are boys, so my chances of having one are, i.e. a conversation such as this, are nil. Be that as it may...

This is a very well written work. It involves a little girl who is embarrassed that she and her friend were caught by her friend's mom doing something that "felt good and tickled" in the neighbors pool (water jets on the side of the pool). The little girl was pretty devastated because the friend's mom had yelled at her. The mother of our little girl begins talking and then takes the little girl shopping and the conversation between the two continues. Thus the author is able to share the information needed through this conversational vehicle.

Much is discussed here. What masturbation is, why it feels good, who does it (it seems like just about every one), where and when it is appropriate, masturbation hygiene, the fact that it is not a subject for general conversation with friends, the fact that guilt should not be associated with the act and so on.

This is certainly not a "how to do it" book. No, this is a frank, sometimes amusing, discussion between a mother and daughter discussing some of the facts of life. This is good information.

The author has a keen and readable writing style laced with a good sense of appropriate humor. While the discussion he records is light, the facts he shares are quite serious and informative. The book is laced with many cute illustrations which correspond well with the text.

Fortunately for me, I have never had to have this conversation. But I must say that if I had had to, then I would have been extremely grateful for this book. Of course had this subject come up with my daughter, I would have, in my case, sent her and the book straight to my wife and let her worry about it...hey, I am that kind of guy.

One of the nice things about this work is that if you are like me and would go to great lengths not to have this conversation, then you can "accidently" leave it lying around the house. I promise you that no young lady of the target age of this work will be able to read the title of the book and pass it up. Reading it would be almost as useful as discussing it.

This particular work covers the subject of masturbation for boys. The author has also written one for boys entitled Everybody Masturbates

Not to leave a stone unturned in his quest of sex education, Cristian YoungMiller has written a companion book for girls based on his book EVERYBODY MASTURBATES that was written for boys. The style is the same, the use of plain storytelling with illustrations is the same, and the message is the same: masturbation is a normal activity for both boys/men and girls/women.

This time the 10-year-old girl is Candy ad Candy feels guilty because her friend Molly's mother 'caught' the girls standing in the swimming pool with the water jets tickling them in just the right place. Candy is unable to relate her fear to her mother until her mother very wisely takes her shopping. Alone, the mother and daughter discuss masturbation, what it is, why it is, how it is not unhealthy, that it is meant to lead to eventual preparation for the concept of having babies, the does and don'ts of hygiene, and finally the ultimate question: if it is alright for girls to masturbate, do women who are married or simply grown up masturbate, too? Candy's mother struggles a bit with the sensitivity of the subject but in the end she reassures in a demonstration of how shoes feel or look as to the importance of how females need to know what makes them feel good. It works, and Candy is relieved (as is her mother) and the topic of self-pleasuring is well covered.

Simple book? No. It is a complex situation that YoungMiller addresses but he is so creative and gifted that he makes the 'taboo' subject a rich learning experience. A job very well done. Grady Harp, October 10

What a great guide for parents! I wish I had this book back when my daughter was seven. It is a sweet, thoughtful, and respectful story. Easy enough reading for a young girl and and excellent guide for parents on how to approach this hard to talk about subject with them. Highly recommend!

One of the best books out there

Needed this book for class, arrived promptly and in great condition.

GREAT book for anyone looking to learn how to lead others. Unfortunately, leadership isn't something that all parents teach to their kids anymore, but this book will easily fill that void. FULL of good content that will help you grow as a person and as a leader. In teaching my kids how to be leaders, this is a book I will refer to often.

One indispensible book on leadership.

When we talk about leadership, many people just think about CEOs, Managers or Pastors. The truth is, we are all leaders in one way or another . This book is not just a leadership book. It is a guide for growing as a person . Very straight and to the point, each chapter details how to implement each quality into your leadership. This is a book you can use every year as a review to see where you are as a leader and how you can improve. By reviewing periodically, you can become a more complete leader. I highly recommend this book.

Wisdom (that you've probably heard before)

If you've never read a book on leadership by John Maxwell, this is a great book! It covers the basics well. Maxwell's chapters are short, they state a principle, give an illustration, and then urge us to search our hearts and make real changes.

The book can be read one chapter at a time (It is best this way, I think --with meditation on the ideas) or all in one sitting. Maxwell's illustrations stick with me long after the chapter has been read --for days in fact. subjects are not rocket science, but good common sense wisdom rarely is. He is wise enough to know isolate the qualities a leader needs and explain how to measure yourself to see if you have them. Qualities like Character, Charisma, Commitment (no, they don't all start with C!), self discipline, Vision, Teachability.

Great book.

why only 3 stars? well, actually, if it's your first John Maxwell book it's 5 stars! But if you have read any of his other books on leadership (I have read several), frankly, it's the same as them. Just get on leadership book by Maxwell and read it every few years to freshen up on the basics. That will do.

About the Author
Jordan Sarah Weatherhead comes from just about the smallest town anyone can imagine. Raised in Leonard, North Dakota until the age of 18, Weatherhead always had an imagination that ran right out of her head and onto paper. Always drifting off in school classes to worlds of magic and monsters, sunshine and adventure, she often got in trouble for being the girl who never put the pen down and never kept her head up. While on a vacation in Hawaii with her best friend at the age of 16, Weatherhead found something she hadn't before believed in; love. One trip to paradise and her world had changed forever. Now instead of just daydreaming about adventures, she was about to embark on one. Writing went from being a distracting hobby to a necessity for letting out her teenage angst and long distance love that no one around her thought would last. Being published in a book of poetry at age 18 lit the fire for Weatherhead even more. Jordan moved to Detroit, Michigan after high school graduation to be with her soul mate from Hawaii, Chad. From the moment that the summer after her high school graduation began, she knew there were two things in life she wanted: A life with Chad and to be a writer. Moving around from Michigan, Florida, and North Dakota and back to Michigan, Jordan and Chad had a son, got married, survived his deployment to Iraq, and encountered many more of life's experiences along the way. Weatherhead never once stopped writing and through the ups and downs in life she relentlessly put down onto paper the rawest feelings of her adventures. Never feeling completely understood in her life, Weatherhead now puts out this amazing book of emotions for the world to read. Jordan Weatherhead is a strong and outspoken individual with a 'never-back-down, in-your-face' attitude. Her family, friends, and life lessons are all reasons this book is possible, but the major driving force behind her words will always be Chad. Jordan now resides in Detroit, Michigan with her husband and son where she enjoys poker, live music, traveling, basketball, tattoos, being with friends, and staying in touch with her family back home. She plans on putting out other books in the years to come and to keep her dream alive of a life with Chad and being a writer. Weatherhead believes passion and love are the biggest forces in this world, and if you have those two things, you can achieve miracles.

Never read anything like these poems before. Truly amazing work. Anyone can definitely relate and the title fits the book very well. Wonderful job Jordan!

Are You Kidding Me?

Came here to learn about the person credited with an aphorism I saw on some SocMed feed in order to get some context for the quotation.
The book's description is so ineptly written that I cannot imagine taking the author's work seriously, much less spreading around a meme therefrom.
